The Walkman:
Oh yeah, you weren’t cool unless you had one of these things! It was the iPod before the iPod. The walkman was the hippest thing in the game in the late 80’s. If you wanted to be even cooler, you would even play your own mix tape in the Walkman. It would make you the ultimate status symbol. The answer to itunes in the 80′s! #throwbackthursday
House Phones:
Anyone else find it really weird to think about using a house phone now? Back in the day everyone in the house used to fight over using the house phone. Then of course there were the days where you would get told off for using the Internet when someone needed to use the phone! This photo is a real throwback of our team member, Emily with her younger sister and the brick of a phone on the table! #throwbackthursday
Teletext:
This was as close to the internet as you were going to get! Not the most user friendly with all those pixels and brash colours but you could find weather, news and competitions here but the weirdest thing is people even booked their holidays through Teletext?! And do you remember if you accessed it and it’s on page 3 and you want page 2 you need to wait for it to load 1 by 1!
How annoying! Even stranger, apparently Teletext still lives on today…
Floppy Disks:
Does anyone remember these ever fitting a whole word document on? No, us neither. These were pretty much redundant the moment the first USB stick came out, even when they only held 250 mb of data! Oh how we’ve progressed… #throwbackthursday
Iphones:
Yes, we do realise these aren’t exactly old but when proposing the idea for this blog post, our intern’s reply was, “what about when iPhones didn’t have front-facing cameras?!” Pure gold! Imagine the horror of having to take a bathroom selfie now with your arm all out stretched weirdly?! #throwbackthursday
